These are the manuscripts associated with the papers and posters presented at the 2001 International Containment & Remediation Technology Conference and Exhibition, which was held in June 2001 in Orlando, Florida. The purpose of the conference was to advance containment and remediation technologies by providing a forum through which participants from related disciplines could meet to exchange ideas and information on recent developments. These manuscripts are a valuable compilation of information and data on the environmental challenges and technology-based solutions associated with containment and remediation technologies.
More than 700 participants from all over the world participated in this second event in a series of conferences on containment and related technologies. Through exhibitions, platform presentations and poster presentation, as well as through personal interactions, the 2001 International Containment & Remediation Technology Conference and Exhibition was a successful event for the conference participants and exhibitors. The conference was a follow on activity to the international workshop on containment technology systems conducted in August of 1995 in Baltimore, Maryland, and to the International Containment Technology Conference and Exhibition conducted in February of 1997 in St. Petersburg, Florida. The planning already has been initiated for the 2004 conference and exhibition. The 2004 conference will provide a forum for discussions on advancements and experiences gained in the application of containment technology systems.
The manuscripts are presented as they were submitted by the authors in the official language of the conference, which was English. Questions or comments concerning a particular manuscript should be directed to the author(s).
